Symphonic
band takes
first place

The Los Gatos High School Symphonic Band won a first-place trophy on May 22 in Class A at the Feste Del Mar Concert Band Contest held in San Jose.

The Los Gatos band had the highest score of all the bands in all the classes at the competition.

Judges called the band's performance "impressive" and "an excellent performance of college-level music."

The school's symphonic band, jazz ensemble and chamber orchestra, conducted by Jim Francisco, also presented a final concert of the school year on June 4.

Wright is a
graduate
of San Diego

Sylvie Wright graduated from the University of San Diego on May 23.

Wright earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in economics. At USD, she was a member of the Accounting Society and the Economics Club.

Wright will work as an accountant financial analyst at Qualcomm Inc. in San Diego.

She is a graduate of University City High School in San Diego and is the daughter of William and Linda Wright of Los Gatos.

Glennon will
graduate summa
cum laude

Jenny Glennon, a 2000 graduate of Los Gatos High School, will graduate in June from UC-Berkeley summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's degree in English. She will take a year off from school and return for her doctorate.
