Seniors Brian Williams and Gabriella Hdez placed in two events each for Los Gatos at the Central Coast Section swimming and diving championships held May 1415.

Williams was third in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:43.51 and seventh in the 500 free in 4:44.70, and Hdez was fourth in the 100 free in 52.80 and fifth in the 200 individual medley in 2:11.04.

Hdez also teamed with sophomores Alyssa Uno, Jessica Safir and Taryn Hunter to finish 15th in the 200 free relay in 1:45.63.

Hdez's time in the 100 free snapped a 14-year-old school record in the event at Los Gatos and was good for All-American consideration.

The 4.0-plus student will attend Stanford University in the fall, where she hopes to continue her swimming career. She was named a Scholastic All-American by United States Swimming for the second straight year.

The registration fee is $25 for the 10K or 5K, $23 per runner for groups of five or more, and all participants receive a T-shirt, refreshments and raffle entry. Top three finishers in each age group receive medals.
